The next in our series of highly-regarded HRLaw training sessions will take place on Thursday 22 May from 3.30pm to 7.30pm and will explore the ways in which neurodiversity should be taken into account when recruiting, particularly in the context of the proposed new ‘day one’ unfair dismissal rights.
Aimed at HR professionals, managers, and in-house legal teams, the course uses examples and scenarios, which are played out by professional actors to bring these important employment issues to life. During this session, attendees will observe scenes in which a recruiting manager is responding to requests for adjustments from a candidate invited to interview who says they have a neurodivergent condition.
You will observe how each scene unfolds and then make suggestions for how to improve the approach. The actors will then replay the scene, taking on board your suggestions and allowing you to learn from seeing what works in practice. Rest assured, no acting or role play from you will be required!
Previous feedback highlighted how this approach helps attendees absorb the topic more easily than a conventional training session.
The session will be led by Selwyn Blyth, who trained and practised as an employment lawyer. Selwyn specialises in training HR teams and managers in dealing with workplace issues effectively and has delivered popular HRLaw training sessions at Fox Williams for a number of years.
There is no cost to attend the session. Limited places are available on a first-come, first-served basis and we expect demand to be high.
